Samsung Galaxy Devices to Get Google’s Identity Check Feature with One UI 7

Samsung Galaxy devices running One UI 7 will soon receive a new security feature called Identity Check, as part of the Android 15 update.

First announced by Google in December 2024, this feature prevents thieves from changing sensitive settings, such as device or account passwords, on a stolen device.

Even if the thief knows the device’s passcode, they will still need to provide biometric authentication to access these settings.

The feature was included in the One UI 7 beta, which launched alongside Android 15, and it will now be available in the stable release for Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S25.

Google has confirmed that Identity Check will be available on eligible Galaxy devices running One UI 7 in the coming weeks.

This means that devices either already running One UI 7 or those updated to it soon will benefit from the feature.

However, Galaxy devices not yet on One UI 7 will receive the feature at a later date, once they are updated to the latest version.

For non-Samsung Android users, Identity Check will arrive later in 2025.

Stay tuned for more updates as the feature rolls out to One UI 7 eligible devices.
