Rockstar Games has just revealed a brand new event for Red Dead Redemption II’s online mode, Red Dead Online, and it’s available right now.

If you’re tired of waiting for Grand Theft Auto VI or the long-distant dream of Red Dead Redemption III, this new content might just hold you over.

The latest event, titled Head For The Hills, introduces a fresh twist to the classic Showdown mode.

“Brace for impact in Head for the Hills (Dodge a Bullet), a new high-stakes twist on the classic Red Dead Online Showdown mode,” Rockstar revealed. “Runners must race across treacherous terrain to reach their Safehouse, while Defenders occupy a vantage point with long-range firepower to eliminate them one-by-one.”

In addition to the new mode, players can also earn 3X Red Dead Online Cash, enjoy 3X XP, and grab fishing items at half price. Plus, there are a variety of weekly rewards now up for grabs.

It’s not a full-blown single-player DLC, which fans have long hoped for, but it’s something new to experience in a game many thought Rockstar had stopped supporting.

And let’s be honest—Red Dead Redemption II is still one of the most gorgeous, immersive, and content-rich games out there. If you’re still riding through the wild west, now’s the perfect time to saddle up again.
