PS5 Users Get $10 Credit From Sony for PSN Code Issues

PlayStation users on PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, and PS5 Pro are receiving free PlayStation Store credit as a gesture of apology for issues with redeeming PSN codes.

This follows a problem that occurred around Christmas 2024, when users were unable to redeem their voucher codes on the PlayStation Store due to a system error.

In the email sent to affected users, Sony explains that the issue began on December 24, 2024, and that users were met with an error screen instead of receiving their credit.

As compensation, Sony is offering a $10 USD wallet credit to those impacted. The email also notes that if users still have their original voucher, it should now be redeemable along with the added credit.

This is separate from Sony’s previous apology for a PSN outage in January, where users received free PlayStation Plus. The recent PlayStation Store credit is an additional gesture to make up for the Christmas-related issue, though users who lost their codes during that time will not be getting them back.

While the delay in addressing the issue has left some fans wondering why it took so long, the busy holiday season and the prior PSN outage likely played a role.

Still, many users have reported receiving the compensation via email, signaling Sony’s effort to resolve the situation.
