The Pokemon Company has shared new details about the upcoming Battle Partners set for the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG).
This new set will be released in Japan next month and brings back Trainer’s Pokemon, a type of card that hasn’t been seen in years.
The announcement came during Day 2 of the Pokemon TCG Champions League 2025 Osaka event, streamed live on YouTube. Fans got a special treat as several new cards were revealed.
The Battle Partners set will feature Pokemon inspired by the characters from the games and anime, with each card showing a small image of the trainer, similar to the old Gym Heroes and Gym Challenge sets.
One of the key trainers featured in the set is N from Pokemon Black and White. Cards of N’s Zoroark ex, N’s Reshiram, and N’s Reshiram ex were shown again, alongside new cards of N’s Zorua, Darumaka, Darmanitan, and Sigilyph.
Lillie, a major character from Pokemon Sun and Moon, will also be featured in the set. Lillie’s Clefairy ex was one of the first cards revealed, and today’s stream showed more, including Lillie’s Comfey.
Iono, the Electric-type Gym Leader from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, will have several cards, including Iono’s Wattrel, Kilowattrel, and a full art card of Iono’s Bellibolt ex, showing the trainer hugging the Pokemon.
The pack art for Battle Partners will feature these trainers along with Hop from Pokemon Sword and Shield, alongside the Legendary Pokemon Zacian.
While Japan will get the Battle Partners set in January, North America will first receive the Prismatic Evolutions set.
Rumors suggest that Battle Partners will arrive in North America in March, under the name Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: Journey Together. Fans are excited to see more details and official translations soon.
