The world of Peaky Blinders is far from finished. Creator Steven Knight has confirmed that while the upcoming Netflix film marks the end of this chapter, there’s more to come from the Peaky universe.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, Knight revealed that filming for the much-anticipated Peaky Blinders movie wrapped on December 13, and early footage is already promising. “We’re putting it together now,” he said, adding, “No one will be disappointed. It is quite an incredible thing.”
The film sees Cillian Murphy return as Tommy Shelby, with Barry Keoghan also joining the cast. The script is written by Knight, who produces alongside Patrick Holland, Murphy, and Guy Heeley, with executive producers including Tom Harper and David Kosse.
However, while this film may conclude one part of the Peaky Blinders saga, Knight hinted at a larger future for the franchise. “I’m not allowed to announce it,” he teased, “but I’m just saying that the world of Peaky will continue.”
Beyond Peaky Blinders, Knight has another major project on the horizon—his new drama, A Thousand Blows, premieres this Friday on Disney+ in the U.K. and Hulu in the U.S. With multiple projects in the works, Knight’s storytelling empire is only expanding.
