A few of the next generation CarPlay images filed in the EU

Apple has filed images of its next-generation CarPlay system with the EU Intellectual Property Office, signaling progress toward its long-awaited release.

These filings, spotted by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris, include interface designs and an Audi logo, reaffirming the automaker’s commitment to the system.

Initially previewed in June 2022, next-gen CarPlay boasts a fully integrated experience across instrument clusters and infotainment screens.

While Apple previously stated vehicles with support would launch in 2024, no models have hit the market yet, even as Porsche and Aston Martin showcased designs last year.

With December approaching, questions about Apple’s 2024 deadline remain. However, the new filings suggest Apple is actively preparing for the rollout, offering reassurance that next-gen CarPlay is on track.
