New Gmail Security Alert ― How to Protect Yourself from AI Attacks

Gmail, the world’s most popular free email platform with 2.5 billion users, is under attack from AI-powered threats.

Hackers are using advanced AI tools to launch highly convincing phishing attacks, with some so realistic they nearly fooled cybersecurity experts.

These AI-driven attacks are leveraging deepfake technology to create fake videos or audio recordings, impersonating real people.

The result? Even experienced professionals can be tricked into giving away sensitive credentials.

In response to this growing threat, researchers from Palo Alto Networks’ Unit 42 have developed an adversarial machine learning algorithm that helps detect these AI-powered threats.

The algorithm uses large language models (LLMs) to rewrite malicious code, making it harder for traditional detection systems to spot.

To protect yourself, Gmail and security experts recommend double-checking any unexpected requests through trusted channels, avoiding clicking on suspicious links or downloading attachments, and verifying any security alerts directly through Google’s official site.
