New Design and Theming Options Spotted for Google Search Widget

2

Google is preparing potential updates to its Search widget for Android devices, according to an APK teardown by Android Authority. The changes include a new design and expanded theming options.

The current Search widget allows users to select between System, Light, Dark, and Device themes. The upcoming update may introduce custom theme capabilities, letting users adjust hue and saturation levels to create a unique look.

The new design appears similar to the recent redesign of the Circle to Search feature. Additionally, Google is testing a share button on the search results page, which would allow users to quickly share the URL of their current search query.

These changes were discovered in the Google app v15.47.26 beta version. However, it’s important to note that features found in APK teardowns are not guaranteed to be released to all users.

The potential updates reflect Google’s ongoing efforts to improve user interface and customization options for Android devices. The changes are currently not live and will depend on feedback from beta users.

Users interested in these potential updates should keep an eye on future Google app updates.
