Meta has introduced several improvements to Facebook Messenger, including HD video calls, background noise suppression, and AI-generated video call backgrounds.
HD video calls will be enabled by default on Wi-Fi, with an option to activate on mobile data. Users can enable background noise suppression and voice isolation through call settings. The update allows leaving audio or video messages when calls go unanswered.
A new AI background feature will soon let users customize video call backgrounds by tapping the effects icon. On iOS, Siri integration now enables hands-free calling and messaging.
These updates aim to enhance call quality and user experience, addressing long-requested features from Messenger users.
The improvements reflect Meta’s ongoing efforts to make digital communication feel more natural and engaging.
