Manager Hansi Flick Talks Big Win Over Real Madrid as Barcelona Near La Liga Title

Last updated on June 3, 2025

Barcelona’s manager Hansi Flick continues to make an impact in his first season at the club, as his side triumphed 4-3 over Real Madrid in an intense El Clasico.

This victory has secured Barcelona four straight wins against their rivals, putting them just two points away from clinching the La Liga title.

A Dominant Attack Under Flick

In the four Clasico encounters this season, Barcelona have scored 16 goals—averaging four goals per match. This attacking force highlights Flick’s success in transforming the team into an offensive powerhouse. Despite the celebrations, the German coach remained grounded after the victory.

“I still don’t feel like a champion,” Flick said. “We’re in a good place, yes. But we still need three points, and everyone wants to beat us. If we stay focused, we’ll get there.”

Ferran Torres Shines in Striker Role

One of the standout players of the night was Ferran Torres, who was tasked with playing as the central striker in place of Robert Lewandowski, who was returning from injury.

Though Torres did not score, his contribution was vital, as he provided three assists. Flick praised his performance, stating, “He did very well. Playing as a number nine suits him, and he gave us three great assists.”

Flick also noted that Torres’ impressive form was crucial, especially with Lewandowski’s return from injury. “He’s done very well. It’s great that Ferran is at this level,” Flick added.

Updates on Cubarsi and Praise for Yamal

Flick also shared updates on two young players. Pau Cubarsi, who had to be substituted during the match, experienced a minor stomach issue. “He had a stomach issue, but he told us he could go for another ten or fifteen minutes if needed,” said Flick.

Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal, the 17-year-old prodigy, continued to impress with his skill and maturity. Yamal was on the scoresheet against Real Madrid, and his performance left Flick praising the young talent.

“He’s doing very well and believes in what he’s doing. He’s very smart. After Tuesday’s game, everyone was focused on today’s match. He helped us come back, and at 17 years old, he had a great game today.”

La Liga Glory Within Reach

With just one more win needed to secure the La Liga title, Barcelona’s victory over Real Madrid keeps them on track for a memorable season under Hansi Flick. The coach and the team are now just a step away from making history.
