Lexus has reopened orders for the NX450h+, its flagship plug-in hybrid SUV, after a hiatus since March 2023 due to supply issues.

The 2025 model is priced at $95,900 (before on-road costs), undercutting competitors like the BMW X3 30e xDrive and Audi Q5 55 TFSI e quattro by $6600 and $10,084, respectively.

The NX450h+ combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an 18.7kWh battery and twin electric motors for an all-wheel drive setup, delivering 227kW of power.

It boasts a fuel consumption of 1.3L/100km and an all-electric range of 87km, placing it alongside popular models like the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and BYD Sealion 6.

Lexus Australia’s CEO, John Pappas, expressed gratitude to customers for their patience and emphasized the brand’s focus on ensuring ample supply for 2025.

The company also hinted at the upcoming plug-in hybrid version of the RX SUV, further expanding its hybrid lineup.

With demand for plug-in hybrids surging in Australia—up 100.4% year-over-year—the NX450h+ is poised to strengthen Lexus’ position in the market.
