Lenovo’s AdaptX Mouse: The Modular Mouse That Could Change Everything

At CES 2025, tech enthusiasts were expecting to see the usual exciting gadgets, like phones, laptops, and cars. But one surprise stood out: a modular wireless mouse from Lenovo. The AdaptX Mouse was one of the most creative and unique ideas at the event.

The AdaptX Mouse is different from any other mouse. It is modular, meaning it can be customized in many ways. The mouse is made of two parts: the front half with buttons and a scroll wheel, and the back half that forms the rear of the mouse.

These parts can be snapped together, and you can change the rear piece depending on your needs. For example, you can use an ergonomic rear for a comfortable grip, a flat rear for portability, or rotate the flat rear to make the mouse more ergonomic.

While the AdaptX Mouse is a Proof of Concept (POC), it may not be released anytime soon. Lenovo has said that they are just showing off the design to see if people are interested.

There is no confirmed price or release date, and it might never be released if Lenovo decides it’s not worth it. However, the AdaptX Mouse has already made a big impression, and many hope it will become a real product.

The best part about the AdaptX Mouse is its flexibility. It is more than just a basic mouse. Lenovo has designed several modules that can be attached to the back of the mouse. These modules add extra features.

For example, one module is a power bank that charges the mouse and your phone. Another module stores small cards like SD cards and SIM cards, while another acts as a USB hub with extra ports. These modules make the AdaptX Mouse much more useful than a regular mouse.

For now, the AdaptX Mouse remains a concept with no details on its battery life, price, or launch date. But its clever design and flexibility have made it a standout product at CES. Lenovo has shown that they are thinking outside the box with this concept, and it could change the way we think about mice in the future.
