JYP Faces Abuse Allegations from VCHA Member KG

KG (VCHA Member)

KG, an American member of JYP Entertainment’s global girl group VCHA, has accused the company of mistreatment and filed a lawsuit to terminate her contract.

She revealed the allegations via Instagram, claiming incidents of abuse, unfair treatment, and harsh conditions that caused some members to self-harm and develop eating disorders.

KG, 17, stated she had accumulated significant company debt despite minimal pay, adding that the toxic environment reflected deeper issues in the K-pop industry. She hopes her departure will push for better conditions for idols and trainees.

JYP USA responded with “deep regret,” denying the claims and stating they had tried to resolve the matter through discussions.

The company accused KG of making exaggerated public statements that harmed VCHA and their upcoming projects.

This controversy follows similar cases in the K-pop industry, including legal battles involving EXO and Loona, which exposed exploitative contracts and grueling work conditions.

Experts emphasize the need for labor laws to protect idols and ensure fair treatment in the industry.
