BTS’ Jungkook Surpasses 20 Billion Streams as “Seven” Breaks Records

Jungkook of BTS has become the first K-pop solo artist to surpass 20 billion on-demand audio streams. He achieved the milestone in the shortest time among Asian groups and solo acts, highlighting his strong global influence.

On-demand streaming allows users to directly search and play specific songs. Industry observers say the record reflects Jungkook’s steady popularity across major music platforms worldwide.

His solo debut single Seven set multiple speed records on Spotify. The track reached 100 million, 900 million, 1 billion, and 1.1 billion streams faster than any previous release on the platform.

The song is officially listed by Guinness World Records as the fastest track in Spotify history to surpass one billion streams. The achievement strengthened Jungkook’s position as one of the most streamed Asian solo artists globally.

Observers also point to his consistent self-care as a key factor behind his success. Jungkook maintains his stamina through weight training and boxing. Experts say weight training supports muscle protein synthesis and helps maintain muscle mass when combined with aerobic exercise.

He is also known to practice high-intensity interval training, or HIIT. A study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that HIIT significantly improves fat oxidation capacity over a short period.

Boxing, another core part of his routine, engages the entire body and boosts maximal oxygen uptake, or VO₂max. This is a key measure of cardiorespiratory endurance. For performers like Jungkook, who perform demanding choreography during long concerts, strong endurance is essential.
