Jensen Huang Turns Down TSMC CEO Role in New Memoir

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang

In his new memoir, TSMC founder Morris Chang reveals that he asked Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to take over as CEO of the chip giant in 2013.

Chang explained his vision for TSMC for 10 minutes, but Huang politely declined, saying, “I already have a job.”

Despite Huang’s decision, Chang believed his deep semiconductor knowledge and professional background made him an ideal candidate.

Huang, who founded Nvidia in 1993, has since led the company to become a major player in the AI sector.

Although Nvidia now collaborates with multiple chipmakers, TSMC remains one of its biggest partners. Chang, who stepped down as TSMC’s CEO in 2018, reflects on his long career in the new memoir.
