James Gunn has confirmed that his upcoming “Superman” film will not require reshoots but will have a day and a half of pickup shots.
The director made the announcement on his Threads account, clarifying that there are no major changes to the film, just a few individual shots to enhance the final product.
Gunn, known for minimizing reshoots in his projects, previously made it clear that he prefers to avoid unnecessary additional filming.
He highlighted his impressive track record, having only done one day of reshoots for both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Suicide Squad.
In his post, Gunn shared six tips on how he manages to keep reshoots to a minimum: preparation, having a finished script before shooting, hiring capable team members, challenging his crew, being mindful of imperfections, and repeating the first two steps.
He also emphasized his thorough audition process and background checks for casting.
The highly anticipated film stars David Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, with Nicholas Hoult playing Lex Luthor. Superman is scheduled for release on July 11, 2025.
