James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios, shared an update about the upcoming movie Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Following the release of the Superman: Legacy trailer, Gunn revealed that quality is the top priority for DC’s new projects.
“We’re focusing on making everything good. Quality comes first,” Gunn said. He praised the script by Ana Nogueira and noted that the film’s director, Craig Gillespie, was chosen for his exceptional work on Cruella and I, Tonya.
Behind the Scenes
Milly Alcock, known for her role in House of the Dragon, will play Supergirl. Gunn revealed she was his first choice for the role. “She has the edge, grace, and authenticity we need for Supergirl,” Gunn said.
Cinematographer Rob Hardy, famous for his work on Ex Machina and Annihilation, will handle visuals.
What’s Next?
While there’s no release date for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, production will begin after Superman: Legacy hits theatres on July 11, 2025.
Fans can expect a strong focus on storytelling rather than rushing to build a larger DC Universe.
