Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly feeling the pressure to deliver after their Netflix projects failed to capture significant viewership.
Despite being paid an “exorbitant” amount for their content deals, the couple’s first two Netflix projects have gone largely unnoticed.
Polo Documentary Falls Flat
Their Netflix documentary Polo, which focused on the niche sport, has been criticized by royal experts as “boring” and unlikely to attract a broad audience.
Sources close to the couple have expressed frustration, especially as Prince Harry was particularly passionate about the project.
The documentary failed to generate the enthusiasm that the couple had hoped for, leaving them disappointed by the lack of interest.
Declining Viewership After Early Success
Their 2022 documentary Harry & Meghan initially broke Netflixโs records for the highest viewing hours during its premiere week.
However, subsequent projects, including Polo, have struggled to maintain the same level of success, with poor viewership figures reported.
New Cooking Show on the Horizon
Amid the setbacks, Meghan Markle is set to launch a new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, on January 15.
The eight-episode series will feature Meghan sharing tips on cooking, gardening, crafting, flower arranging, and hosting.
The trailer for the show features celebrity guests, including chef Alice Waters, actress Mindy Kaling, and Meghanโs close friend Abigail Spencer. Prince Harry makes a brief appearance in the trailer.
