Google TV is wrapping up the year with a boost to its Freeplay service, adding over a dozen new free, ad-supported live streaming channels, many of which are holiday-themed.
This comes after the platform surpassed 150 free channels earlier in 2024, continuing to expand its library.

These updates bring the total number of free channels on Google TV to 171. However, some holiday channels may be temporary.
While the Freeplay channel lineup expands, Google TV has removed one car-focused channel, Motortrend Fast TV, and continues to offer over 1,100 free channels through partners like Plex and PlutoTV, though these require additional app downloads.
The revamped Freeplay app, which was initially rolled out, has faced issues and has been rolled back from most devices due to crashing problems, with the exception of the Google TV Streamer.
