Google News is getting a sleek new look with a focus on simplicity and easier navigation. The latest update trims down the bottom navigation bar, merging the “For You” and “Headlines” tabs into a single “Home” tab.
This change combines personalized content with top stories, making it easier to access the news you care about.
Additionally, the update introduces a categories carousel at the top of the app, giving quick access to key sections like Local, U.S., World, Business, Tech, Entertainment, Sports, Science, and Health.
These sections were previously hidden in the “Headlines” tab, but now theyโre front and center, reducing extra steps.
The new design also features bold chips to highlight your current feed, improving navigation and giving the app a more visually engaging experience.
While this might make one-handed navigation a bit trickier, it enhances overall usability.
The minimalist redesign reflects Googleโs broader trend towards cleaner, more user-friendly interfaces. The update is rolling out with version 5.120.x on Android, thanks to a server-side update.
