Google has rolled out new improvements to Gemini for Workspace users, enhancing Gmail’s AI-powered Q&A and expanding Imagen 3’s image generation capabilities.
Gmail’s Q&A feature, which brings the Gemini AI side panel to mobile devices, now allows users to insert AI-generated responses directly into email drafts.
Previously, users could ask questions about their emails and find specific details, but now Gemini can actively help draft replies.
For example, if you ask Gemini to “List the next steps” in an email thread, it will generate a set of action items.
A new “Insert” button (on iOS) or an arrow (on Android) allows users to quickly add the AI-generated content into their email draft for further editing and sending. This feature has now rolled out widely.
Google’s latest Imagen 3 update allows Gemini in Workspace apps to generate realistic images of people. This feature is now available in:
The rollout for generating people in images is now complete across all Gemini instances, except for the Gemini app, which is expected to gain the feature by March 1.
Google first introduced Imagen 3’s people generation on gemini.google.com last year. The latest update improves detail, texture, and accuracy in AI-generated images, making them more realistic and responsive to user instructions.
With these updates, Google continues to refine Gemini’s AI-powered tools, making Workspace apps smarter and more efficient for users.
