Google I/O 2025

Google I/O 2025 will start on May 20 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. Google will reveal major updates in Android, AI, and wearable technology. The event will be live-streamed for developers and tech fans around the world.

One of the key highlights is Android 16. This new version will have a cleaner design, soft blur effects, better volume sliders, and a more organized lock screen.

Google says Android 16 will handle notifications more smoothly and improve phone usability. The release is earlier than usual and expected in the second quarter of 2025.

Google is also set to unveil Android XR, a new platform for extended reality. This will support mixed-reality headsets like Samsung’s Project Moohan and Google’s own AI glasses. Android XR will combine digital tools with the real world and work closely with Google’s Gemini AI for smarter experiences.

Gemini AI will be a major focus this year. Google will show how it powers popular services like Gmail, Docs, and Android apps. It will also play a big role in future wearables, offering real-time help and AI-driven features.

Google may also preview Wear OS 6, with possible upgrades for Pixel Watch users. The event will include deep dives into Android development, AI tools, and updates to Google Cloud.
