Google I/O 2025 Schedule Revealed — Big AI and Android Updates Ahead

Google has released the session lineup for its upcoming I/O 2025 developer conference, taking place on May 20–21. The event will highlight major updates in Android, AI, Web, and Cloud.

The conference opens with a 2-hour Google Keynote at 10 a.m. PT on May 20, followed by a Developer Keynote at 1:30 p.m. PT focusing on Gemini and productivity tools for Android and web development.

A live interview with Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis will also take place, discussing AI advancements.

Highlights by Topic:

Android:
Developers will learn about Android 16, AI integration, and cross-device app creation using Jetpack Compose and Kotlin Multiplatform.

Chrome & Web:
Sessions will explore faster web performance, AI APIs, and Chrome DevTools. Expect new UI tools and updates aligned with Interop 2025.

Cloud & Firebase:
Google will showcase new features to improve workflows across platforms and highlight Firebase’s role in building scalable, AI-powered apps.

AI & Gemini:
Several sessions will focus on Gemini’s evolving API, including its reasoning capabilities and agentic AI development. Google’s Gemma open model family will also be featured.

Tools & Platforms:
Android Studio enhancements, new web UI methods, and adaptive design updates will be shared. Google will also cover Workspace automation and Angular and Flutter improvements.

Additional talks will dive into AI’s role in science, autonomous driving with Waymo, and behind-the-scenes insights into Google AI.
