Google has rolled out a new Notifications tab for its Android Search app, adding it to the bottom navigation bar alongside Home, Search, and Saved options.
Key Features:
- Reverse-chronological feed of Google alerts
- Shows weather updates, sports scores, word of the day
- Option to follow topics for personalized updates
- Ability to delete and customize notification types
The update replaces the previous bell icon design tested in late 2023. Users can now see unread notifications through a badge counter on the tab.
The change brings the Android version in line with its iOS counterpart, which has had this feature for some time.
The feature is rolling out server-side for Google app version 15.44 and above.
