Google has rolled out an update to the Gemini app for iPhone, introducing a model picker that allows users to select the new 2.0 Flash Experimental model.
This experimental model, which is faster and more powerful than the 1.5 Pro model, promises to deliver an even more helpful Gemini assistant, although it may not work as expected and lacks file upload support for now.
The 2.0 Flash Experimental model is expected to be generally available in January, alongside the upcoming Deep Research feature.
The update also includes two new extensions: the Google Home extension for smart home control and the Google Photos extension for direct access to your photos.
Additionally, Gemini now supports 11 new languages and expands its Live feature to 21 more languages, making it more accessible to a global audience.
Other changes in the update include a new “Saved Info” section in the account menu and conversation starters for non-Gemini Advanced users.
The Gemini app continues to evolve, offering significant improvements in performance and functionality.
