A recent test of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 running on NVIDIA DLSS 4 highlights how the new upscaling technology could improve performance on the Nintendo Switch 2.

The test, conducted by RandomGaminginHD, shows the game running at 1080p upscaled from 360p using DLSS 4 Ultra Performance mode on an RTX 4060 GPU.

Despite the low base resolution, the game delivers solid image quality and high frame rates, demonstrating the power of NVIDIA’s latest AI-driven upscaler.

How DLSS 4 Improves Performance

The test results show that even with a base resolution of 360p, DLSS 4 manages to produce a stable 1080p output with acceptable visual quality.

On the RTX 4060, the game runs at an average of 90 FPS at the highest settings without ray tracing and 53 FPS with Ultimate Ray Tracing enabled.

Given that the Nintendo Switch 2 is rumored to support DLSS, this technology could help the console run demanding games at playable frame rates while maintaining decent visual quality.

If the Switch 2 integrates DLSS 4’s Transformer model, it could significantly boost performance without requiring powerful hardware, making high-end gaming experiences more accessible on a portable device.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Launch Issues

While the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduced DLSS 4 benefits, its launch was not without problems. Many players faced crashing issues, preventing them from playing the game smoothly. Developer Nixxes and Sony quickly released a hotfix, but some users still report stability issues.

Final Thoughts

The test results indicate that NVIDIA DLSS 4 could be a game-changer for the Nintendo Switch 2, allowing it to run modern titles with higher frame rates and improved image quality.

If Nintendo successfully implements DLSS 4, future Switch games could deliver a much better visual experience without sacrificing performance.
