Disney+ is proving it’s not just for kids. The streaming platform, now combined with Hulu, offers a mix of family-friendly and mature content.

This week, three R-rated movies made the Disney+ top 10 list, showing the platform’s broad appeal.

Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel’s first R-rated movie, is the top movie on Disney+ for the first week of January 2025.

Since its release in November 2024, the superhero action-comedy has been a massive hit, watched 19.4 million times in its first six days.

Paddington (2014) and The Lion King (2019) follow in second and third places. The Lion King’s popularity surged after the new movie, Mufasa: The Lion King, reclaimed the No. 1 spot at the box office.

Other top movies include John Wick (2014), which ranks eighth, and the dark comedy Nightbitch, starring Amy Adams, at ninth. New additions like 1995’s Heat and 2000’s American Psycho are also drawing attention.

Disney+ continues to expand its library with R-rated and mature titles, balancing them with family-friendly content like Bluey and Moana. Parental controls ensure the platform remains accessible for all ages.
