After a 16-year break, Clipse is officially back. The rap duo made up of Pusha T and Malice is set to release their highly anticipated album Let God Sort Em Out on July 11.

Pusha T described the album’s sound in one word: “Urgent.” Their recent singles, “Ace Trumpet” and “So Be It,” were just a preview of what’s to come.

    A Long-Awaited Reunion

Malice stepped away from music after their last album, Til the Casket Drops, to focus on his faith. He gradually returned to hip-hop through collaborations like Kanye West’s Jesus Is King and Pusha T’s It’s Almost Dry.

Malice said those “baby steps” helped him realize there was still a space for Clipse in today’s music scene. “We’re not into existing in rap,” he said. “It has to be revolutionary.”

    Big Features on the Album

Let God Sort Em Out features some of the biggest names in music:

    • Kendrick Lamar (on two tracks)
    • Nas
    • Tyler, The Creator
    • John Legend
    • The-Dream
    • Pharrell
    • Stove God Cooks
    • Ab-Liva

Pusha T revealed that Nas took days to carefully craft his verse for the title track. Tyler, The Creator also contributed while working in Paris. Kendrick Lamar’s feature was nearly blocked by Def Jam, but the duo managed to include it.

    Staying True to the Craft

In an interview with Spotify’s Countdown To series, Clipse spoke with designer Jerry Lorenzo, who has been a longtime fan. Both artists emphasized their commitment to lyricism and authenticity over trends.

“We don’t chase what’s hot,” said Malice. “We stay true to the fundamentals.”

Pusha T added, “Great music comes from real opinions and honest feedback. No egos, just craft.”

    Aiming for the Grammys

The duo hopes their return makes waves at the Grammys. “A Grammy run is always the goal,” said Pusha T.

Despite the years away, Clipse says their bond is stronger than ever. “We bring two different energies,” said Malice. “That’s the power of the Clipse.”
