Black Desert Online Free to Keep on Steam Until July 10

PC gamers on Steam can currently claim Black Desert Online free of charge—but only until July 10 at 10 AM PT. The offer comes as part of the ongoing Steam Summer Sale 2025 and allows players to permanently add the popular MMORPG to their libraries without paying the usual $9.99 price.

Unlike limited-time trials, the offer grants users lifetime access to the game, though they must claim it before the deadline by selecting “Add to Account” on the game’s Steam page. Black Desert Online does not have a subscription fee, making this a cost-effective opportunity for newcomers to explore the title.

Released globally in 2016 by Pearl Abyss, Black Desert is known for its expansive open world, intricate character customization, and action-based combat system that distinguishes it from more traditional MMOs. Despite its age, the game continues to receive updates, including new classes and a recently introduced hardcore server option.

While the promotion has drawn attention, community reactions are mixed. Some players have criticized the game’s monetization, calling it “pay-to-win” in later stages. Others continue to praise its fluid combat and frequent content updates, calling it their favorite MMORPG.

This is not the first time Black Desert has been offered for free on Steam, with similar promotions occurring in late 2024 and early 2023. However, there’s no guarantee the deal will return soon, so interested players are encouraged to act quickly.
