Bayern Munich is close to securing the transfer of Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, with negotiations nearing a deal worth between €80–85 million.

Diaz, 28, joined Liverpool in 2022 and has been a key figure in the club’s recent success, including their 2024–25 Premier League title. Known for his pace, skill, and versatility, Diaz can play on either wing and is seen by Bayern as a replacement for Leroy Sane, who recently left the club as a free agent.

Liverpool has already rejected earlier offers from Bayern, including one of approximately €67.5 million. However, the Premier League side is open to a final deal that exceeds €80 million, including performance-based bonuses. Bayern is reportedly aiming to keep the base fee around €65–70 million, potentially with add-ons and a sell-on clause.

The German champions hope to finalize the deal within the next 7 to 10 days. Diaz has remained in training but has not featured in Liverpool’s recent pre-season matches, with manager Arne Slot confirming his absence is related to the ongoing transfer discussions.

During his time at Liverpool, Diaz made 148 appearances in all competitions, scoring 41 goals and providing 23 assists. He was instrumental in the club’s most recent league title campaign, contributing 13 goals in the 2024–25 season alone.

If completed, the move would mark a significant shift for both clubs. Liverpool is preparing to refresh its attacking lineup, while Bayern looks to strengthen under new leadership and regain domestic dominance after a challenging season.
