Six years after the tragic death of Avicii by suicide in 2018, the legendary DJ/producer is being commemorated with his own SiriusXM radio channel dedicated to his iconic music catalog and legacy.

    Channel Details

Launched on Thursday, May 23rd, “Avicii Radio” is now available exclusively through the SiriusXM app. The channel will feature Avicii’s classic hits, remixes, and never-before-heard recordings from his past live performances.

It will also spotlight music from his collaborators, friends and influences like Nicky Romero, Armin van Buuren, Laidback Luke and Aloe Blacc, who famously voiced “Wake Me Up” – Avicii’s biggest hit and the first song aired on the new channel.

    Promoting Mental Health Awareness

The launch coincides with Mental Health Awareness Month. Avicii Radio aims to uplift listeners through music while highlighting the artist’s enduring influence. It is produced in collaboration with the Tim Bergling Foundation, the nonprofit launched by Avicii’s family after his 2018 death to promote mental health initiatives for young people.

    Programming and Partnerships

The channel will feature programming about events and concerts in Stockholm benefiting the Tim Bergling Foundation. It will also include messaging from Vibrant Emotional Health to provide emotional support resources, fostering a spirit of community and support around mental wellness.

Statements from Avicii’s Family & SiriusXM

Avicii’s father Klas Bergling, who is the director of the Tim Bergling Foundation, expressed appreciation for SiriusXM’s early support of Avicii’s career through their Vice President of Dance Music Geronimo. He also praised their efforts in promoting youth mental health causes aligned with the foundation’s mission.

SiriusXM’s President Scott Greenstein cited his special friendship with Avicii dating back to the artist’s early days, saying he is “personally excited and honored” to celebrate Avicii’s legacy through this dedicated channel in collaboration with his family.

    A Lasting Musical Tribute

Aloe Blacc, who provided vocals on “Wake Me Up”, stated “I can’t think of a better way to honor the life and legacy of Avicii. This SiriusXM radio channel…is a lasting testament to his massive influence.”

The Avicii Radio channel serves as the latest portal into the legendary artist’s bygone era, commemorating his colossal impact on dance music while continuing vital conversations around mental health and wellbeing.
