Apple Music Launches Daily ‘Viral Chart’ Playlist Using Shazam Insights

Apple Music has launched a new “Viral Chart” playlist that is updated daily based on live Shazam data.

Since acquiring Shazam nearly seven years ago, Apple has continued to integrate the music discovery service with its own platform, and this new playlist is the latest example.

How It Works

The Viral playlist is populated using Shazam’s daily data, which tracks the top 50 songs that are being discovered by users worldwide within a 24-hour period.

Unlike other viral charts that focus on platforms like TikTok, this playlist captures a wide range of music trends—whether from streaming, social media, TV placements, or even older songs suddenly gaining popularity again.

Playlist Highlights

  • Updated Daily: The playlist refreshes every day with the latest viral hits.
  • Global Discovery: Features songs from all over the world based on user activity on Shazam.
  • Diverse Music: It includes songs from different genres, covering everything from mainstream tracks to rediscovered gems.

The new playlist is available inside the Apple Music app, and users can find it easily through the “Viral Chart” section.
