Apple Intelligence Not Helping With iPhone 16 Sales

Apple Intelligence

Apple introduced Apple Intelligence with its new AI tools, requiring the latest hardware like the iPhone 15 Pro.

However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the AI features have not led to increased iPhone sales.

Despite the initial buzz at WWDC 2024, many iPhone owners are reportedly not convinced to upgrade just for the AI capabilities.

A SellCell survey found that most users see little value in Apple Intelligence. Kuo believes the on-device AI faces structural challenges compared to cloud-based services like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.

He added that Apple’s reliance on hardware processing for its AI features may be hindering its potential to drive hardware replacement cycles.

While Apple has rolled out several AI features, such as Writing Tools and Genmoji, the lack of language support and hardware requirements limit its appeal.

Despite these setbacks, Apple continues to highlight AI features in its ads for the iPhone 16 and M4 Macs.
