Poco Takes a Shot at Apple Over iPhone 17 Pro Camera Design

Apple iPhone 17 Pro

Apple’s new iPhone 17 Pro models feature a redesigned camera island, with a bar stretching across the top back of the phones.

The design has drawn attention from smartphone makers, including Poco, which pointed out that similar camera layouts appeared on its phones before Apple’s launch.

Poco highlighted the F6 Pro, a rebrand of the 2023 Redmi K70 Pro, as an example of its earlier use of a stretched camera island. The company used the opportunity to poke fun at Apple, noting that the design is not new to the smartphone market.

The trend of bar-shaped camera modules is not unique to Poco. Earlier models such as the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Edition from 2020 and recent Google Pixel phones also feature similar designs.

Google had previously commented on Apple’s rumored redesign in May 2025, suggesting that the iPhone 17 Pro may have drawn inspiration from other devices.

Apart from the camera island, the iPhone 17 Pro also introduces an aluminum unibody frame and “Ceramic Shield” glass. While Apple’s implementation differs from Android devices, the new design reflects ongoing trends in premium smartphone aesthetics.
