The Huawei Mate 80 has once again surpassed the iPhone 17 Pro in sales, proving its popularity in the Chinese smartphone market. The standard Mate 80 ranks third, while the iPhone 17 Pro drops to fourth place.

A Weibo tipster recently shared a chart of the first-week sales for 2026. The top five positions include the iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17, Huawei Mate 80, iPhone 17 Pro, and Honor X70. Despite Apple dominating the first two spots, Huawei has maintained a strong presence in the top tier.

The Mate 80 initially beat the iPhone 17 Pro in its first week of release. Apple briefly regained its position in the following weeks, but the latest ranking shows Huawei reclaiming its edge in sales.

The Huawei Mate 80 series has attracted attention for its performance and design, becoming one of the most sought-after smartphones in China. Sales for the lineup are approaching 1.5 million units, potentially surpassing previous Huawei models.

Meanwhile, Huawei is already preparing its next flagship series, the Pura 90, which is currently in development. The company continues to push forward in the high-end smartphone market.

With strong sales and ongoing innovation, Huawei is solidifying its position as a major competitor against Apple in the Chinese market.
