Jeremy Grant, a contestant on the popular Amazon Prime Video series Beast Games, is facing significant online backlash after his actions in the show’s latest episode.

The Controversy

In Beast Games Episode 4, which marked the first new episode of 2025, Jeremy’s behavior sparked outrage among fans.

The show, which features 1,000 contestants competing for a $5 million prize, has seen its fair share of drama, but Jeremy’s tactics in the latest episode took things to another level.

During a challenge, Jeremy was tasked with selecting a group of contestants to advance, after being given 100 coins by his peers.

His decision to choose a diverse group was met with disappointment when he ended up selecting a team with only one woman, despite promising a more inclusive selection.

This, combined with his preachy victory speech focused on his religious beliefs, led many viewers to express their frustration on social media.

Fans React

Criticism of Jeremy flooded platforms like X (formerly Twitter), with many calling him manipulative and accusing him of using his faith to further his gameplay.

One user, @MrJonetsu, expressed their discomfort with Jeremy’s approach, saying, “Jeremy in ‘Beast Games’ is actually kinda awful. Christians like him weird me out and scare me.” Another user, @JoZe3e, compared him to a “cult leader” due to his intense focus on religion during the show.

Additionally, some viewers questioned Jeremy’s participation in multiple Mr. Beast competitions, suggesting possible favoritism. However, it’s not uncommon for Mr. Beast to reuse contestants in his content.

Jeremy’s Response

In a YouTube video, Jeremy addressed the backlash, explaining that he never intended to be loud or controversial when entering the competition.

He described how, during the high-stress environment of the game, he found himself praying with other contestants who were nervous and scared. He emphasized that sharing his faith was something he does in his everyday life and that he would not change his actions if given the chance.

“I’m not mad at the Beast team for the way they edited it,” Jeremy stated. “This is who I am. I’m gonna boldly stand up and share Christ.”

He also urged fans to differentiate between what is perceived on TV and his true intentions, asserting that his faith-driven actions were genuine and not part of a gameplay strategy.

Outside of Beast Games, Jeremy is a filmmaker based in Maine, specializing in cinematography.

He is also a polar bear guard, using his video skills to protect endangered species while capturing stunning footage of these animals.

The first four episodes of Beast Games are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
