Google News App Gets Streamlined Redesign with Unified Home Tab

Google is revamping its News app with a new design that simplifies navigation and merges key sections.

The updated version introduces a unified “Home” tab, which combines the personalized content from the “For You” section with the general top stories previously found under “Headlines.”

This change eliminates the need for users to switch between tabs to access these features.

To make navigation even easier, Google has added interactive chips within the Home tab, allowing users to filter their news feed by categories like “For You,” “Headlines,” and others such as “World” and “Business.” Meanwhile, the “Following” and “Newsstand” tabs remain untouched, keeping some familiarity for users.

While the updated interface is not yet available in the stable release of the app, it is nearing completion, suggesting a wider rollout is imminent.

These changes aim to streamline the user experience, making it easier to access both personalized and global news content in one place.
