X has raised the price of its Premium+ subscription plan after the launch of Grok 3, the latest AI model from Elon Musk’s company xAI.

The price hike is significant, with the monthly subscription for U.S. users increasing from $22 to $40 and the annual price jumping to $350. This price increase comes just two months after a previous hike from $16 to $22.

In addition to the U.S. price update, international prices have also seen a surge. For example, in the UK, the cost of the Premium+ plan has gone from £17 to £35 per month, while in European countries like France and Germany, the price has risen from €21 to €38 per month.

Grok 3 and the SuperGrok Plan

xAI has placed some of Grok 3’s advanced features, like deep search and reasoning, behind a separate SuperGrok plan. This means only Premium+ subscribers will have access to basic features of Grok 3, while more powerful functionalities will be exclusive to SuperGrok.

It’s important to note that pricing discrepancies have appeared across different X pages, with the Premium+ plan appearing at $39.83 on the sign-up page but costing $40 when finalizing checkout.

The premium service adjustments follow a trend of increasing subscription costs, which could indicate a shift towards more exclusive and specialized features for users willing to pay for access to cutting-edge AI models.
