WhatsApp has introduced a new feature in its latest iOS beta update (version 25.3.10.74), rolling out through the TestFlight program.

The new feature allows guests in chat events, providing event organizers with more flexibility in managing their gatherings.

What’s New?

The new Chat Event Guest feature enables users to specify if they plan to bring an additional guest when responding to event invitations.

This allows event organizers to better anticipate the number of attendees, ensuring smoother event planning. Here’s how it works:

  • Guests Option: When creating an event, organizers can enable an option that allows invitees to indicate whether they’ll be attending alone or bringing a guest.
  • Flexibility for Organizers: Organizers will be able to see if attendees are bringing a plus-one, helping with seating arrangements, catering, and other logistics.
  • Privacy Option: Event creators can also choose to disable this feature, keeping the event strictly limited to the invited participants, which is useful for more exclusive or confidential gatherings.

Use Cases:

  • Corporate Events: Organizers can prepare resources based on the number of attendees and their plus-ones (e.g., for dinners, meetings, or conferences).
  • Personal Events: For weddings or parties, hosts can ensure they’re aware of all the attendees and any guests, helping to finalize arrangements.

Availability:

  • This feature is available to a select group of beta testers and will roll out to more users over the next few days.

Stay tuned for more updates, as WhatsApp continues to improve its event management features for both iOS and Android users.
