Samsung has introduced a new phone trade-in initiative called the Galaxy Trade-In Program, offering users the chance to trade in their old devices for value, even if they don’t purchase a new phone.

This program, which is currently in a trial phase, is available in South Korea and France, and is managed by Likewize.

Unlike previous trade-in offers that required the purchase of a new phone, this program allows users to get value for their old devices without committing to a new purchase.

Eligible devices include the Galaxy S23, S22, S21, S20 series, as well as Z Fold5, Fold4, Fold3, Flip5, Flip4, and Flip3. However, the list of eligible devices may vary by country.

The program categorizes traded-in phones into three grades: Excellent, Good, or Recycle, with corresponding payouts based on the condition of the device.

To find out how much your device is worth, users will need to visit the Galaxy Trade-In Program pages, which were not live at the time of writing.

Samsung’s Jun Kim, EVP and Head of Galaxy Value Innovation team, stated, “We’re excited to launch our brand-new year-round Galaxy Trade-In Program in an effort to enrich the value of Galaxy devices for users and contribute to a circular economy.”

The program is expected to expand to other markets later in the year, although Samsung has not specified which countries will be included next.
