Tha Carter VI Drops June 6 – Lil Wayne Confirms in Surprise Ad

Lil Wayne has officially revealed the release date for his highly anticipated album, Tha Carter VI.

The rap legend confirmed that the album will drop on June 6, 2025, through a creative ad campaign that aired today.

A Unique Announcement

Wayne made the announcement in an extended Cetaphil ad titled We’re All a Lil Sensitive.

The ad plays on his disappointment over not being chosen as the Super Bowl LIX halftime performer, a spot that went to Kendrick Lamar.

After clearing the air with Kendrick, Wayne decided to move forward and have fun with the moment.

The ad, featuring dermatologist Dr. Muneed Shah, shows Wayne humorously helping people in awkward situations.

Hidden throughout the video are multiple references to 6-6-25, including on jerseys, a scoreboard, and a sign on a door that reads: “Do Not Disturb Til’ 06-06-25 CARTER VI.”

Fans speculated that this was an album release hint, which Republic Records later confirmed to Rolling Stone.

A Special Super Bowl Sunday Connection

Although Wayne won’t be attending the Super Bowl in his hometown of New Orleans, his Cetaphil ad will still air exclusively in the city on Super Bowl Sunday. This move gives him a unique local presence despite missing out on the halftime show.

Wayne’s Perspective on the Ad and Album

Wayne explained that he was drawn to the campaign because it flips the script on sensitivity. “Showing a sensitive side isn’t a weakness—it’s a power,” he said.

He also hinted that his disappointment over the Super Bowl snub pushed him to deliver something even bigger: Tha Carter VI.

With the album now officially set for June 6, fans can expect another major chapter in Wayne’s legendary career.
