SZA has shared a heartfelt cover of Eminem’s iconic hit “Lose Yourself” on social media. The cover, recorded on her mobile phone, features SZA singing the first verse, chorus, and part of the second verse, accompanied by mellow piano keys and a bass guitar.

The clip was uploaded to her Instagram page just before Eminem released his new single “Houdini,” which comes with an accompanying music video featuring a star-studded cast, including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent.
SZA captioned the video, explaining that the cover was recorded for her mental health and will not be part of any upcoming releases. She also humorously asked if anyone else ever covers Eminem’s songs for emotional relief, writing: “U ever just cover Eminem on some tender shit for feels?”.
The cover comes at a time when SZA is preparing for the release of her upcoming deluxe album “Lana.” Originally intended for a deluxe edition of her 2022 album “SOS,” the project took on a life of its own and will now be a separate release. The album was first announced in September and was initially scheduled for a late 2023 release but has since been delayed indefinitely.
SZA’s “SOS” album, released in 2022, received widespread acclaim, including a glowing five-star review from NME’s Rhian Daly, who praised the album as “phenomenal” and “raising the bar even higher than she set it before”.
