Squid Game: Unleashed Update

Netflix’s mobile game Squid Game: Unleashed is getting a big update this Friday. The game will now include characters and challenges from Squid Game Season 2, which premiered on December 26.

The update adds the deadly “Mingle” game and three new players from Season 2: rapper Thanos (Player 230), Geum-Ja (Player 149), and her son Yong-Sik (Player 007).

What’s New in the Update?

Mingle Game
The “Mingle” game is a new map where players must race to find safe rooms before time runs out. Players can also eliminate each other to survive longer.

New Characters

  • Geum-Ja (Player 149): A devoted mother who starts each level with a dodgeball.
  • Thanos (Player 230): A charismatic rapper with a bonus shield ability.
  • Yong-Sik (Player 007): Geum-Ja’s son, who uses fireworks to gain an edge in the game.

Special Events

Netflix has planned special events tied to these updates:

  • Dalgona Mash-Up Event (Jan. 3–9): Players can collect Dalgona tins and play Mingle-inspired games to unlock Geum-Ja.
  • Thanos’ Red Light Challenge (Jan. 9–14): Players use knives to eliminate others and earn points to unlock Thanos.

A Game for Fans

Squid Game: Unleashed is free for everyone, even non-subscribers, making it Netflix’s first mobile game available to all. Players can earn in-game rewards by watching Squid Game episodes, blending gameplay with the show’s storyline.

Netflix plans to add more content from Squid Game Season 3, which is set to release in late 2025.

This update brings the thrill of Squid Game Season 2 to fans, letting them experience the chaos and strategy of the show’s deadly games.
