The Snapdragon 8 Elite, powered by the Adreno 830 GPU, has shown impressive performance in gaming tests.

A recent test revealed that it can emulate Cyberpunk 2077 at 60 FPS with the settings dialed to Low and resolution at 720p. The test, shared by X user @cozy_OSS, suggests that AMD FSR and frame generation tech helped achieve this smooth performance.

Previously, the Snapdragon 8 Elite was demonstrated running Red Dead Redemption at 160 FPS via emulation. Comparisons show that it outperforms the Radeon 780M in benchmarks like 3DMark Steel Nomad Light, which also handles Cyberpunk 2077 well at 720p on Low.

This success likely comes from using a pre-release PC emulator (Eggns), and optimization could improve performance further.

While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 can manage 30 FPS on similar settings, the Snapdragon 8 Elite offers around double the emulation performance. With developer support, we may see smoother native ports of AAA titles on this SoC in the future.

However, Android’s fragmented hardware might delay full support.
