Samsung has selected 12nm RAM chips for its upcoming Galaxy S25 series, improving efficiency and performance over previous models.
The Galaxy S23 series used LPDDR5 RAM, while the S24 models upgraded to LPDDR5X. Now, the S25 series will continue with LPDDR5X, but with 12nm chips for even better power efficiency.
The smaller 12nm semiconductor node will help reduce power consumption, lower heat output, and improve overall efficiency.
This upgrade is expected to provide a significant performance boost when paired with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset across all models of the Galaxy S25 series.
The vanilla Galaxy S25 is expected to feature 12GB of RAM, marking a shift from the 8GB found in the previous generation’s flagship models.
This increase in RAM, combined with the new, more efficient 12nm chips, is set to enhance the device’s performance, making it a more powerful and efficient option for users.
