Samsung has introduced two new foldable smartphones — the premium Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Both models are now available for pre-order and will launch globally on July 25, 2025.
Flagship Z Flip 7 FE
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 brings several design and performance improvements. It is slimmer than before, measuring 13.7mm when folded, and includes a larger 4,300mAh battery. Despite these changes, the phone maintains its weight at 188 grams.
One of the most noticeable upgrades is the new 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover display, now brighter with 2,600 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate. The expanded “FlexWindow” supports AI features such as Google Gemini and Samsung’s Now Bar. Users can also preview camera filters, use Auto Zoom, and control framing with a Zoom Slider.
The internal foldable screen has grown to 6.9 inches and features extremely thin bezels. Samsung has also redesigned the hinge, making it 30% thinner and more durable. The device is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and is rated IP48 for dust and water resistance.
The Z Flip 7 runs on Samsung’s new Exynos 2500 chip, with 12GB RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB. Samsung claims the phone can provide up to 31 hours of video playback on a single charge.
The camera system includes a 50MP main lens, 12MP ultra-wide, and a 10MP selfie camera on the internal display. It supports 10-bit HDR video for improved color detail.
The Z Flip 7 is available in four colors: Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and an exclusive Mint version online. Prices start at $1,100 in the U.S.
Budget-Friendly Z Flip 7 FE
Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, its first Fan Edition foldable phone. Starting at $900, the FE model reuses the design of last year’s Z Flip 6 but replaces the chip with the Exynos 2400 and ships with the latest One UI 8 based on Android 16.
The Z Flip 7 FE has a 3.4-inch cover screen and a 6.7-inch internal display, both protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and Armor Aluminum. It includes a 4,000mAh battery with support for both wired and wireless charging.
The phone shares the same camera setup as the main model but does not support HDR video. It comes in black and white color options, with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage.
Pre-Order Deals and Availability
Both models are available for pre-order now and will be officially released on July 25, 2025. Customers who buy either phone will receive a free 6-month Google AI Pro subscription, which includes 2TB of cloud storage.
