Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series is set to launch with a modest price increase, but the news is not as bad as it might seem.

While the price hike is confirmed for Korea, it will only affect the 512GB storage models, with the 256GB versions maintaining the same price as their predecessors.

    Price Increase Details
The rumored price hike is around KRW 15,400 (approximately $10 or €10), which may seem minor, but it’s important to note that this adjustment only applies to the higher storage variant.

If you’re eyeing the 256GB model, you won’t see any price changes.

    Promotional Offers
In a move that might ease concerns, Samsung is rumored to offer a limited-time promotion where the 512GB version will be priced the same as the 256GB model, just as it did last year.

If this offer extends globally, the price hike may not impact many buyers.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset Impact
The price increase is partly due to Samsung’s decision to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is more expensive than the Exynos 2500, but issues with the Exynos’ yield forced Samsung to make the switch.

However, the company has reportedly absorbed the cost difference to maintain its AI-focused smartphone strategy.

    Regional Differences
While this price hike is confirmed for Korea, it remains unclear if Samsung will implement the same strategy in other markets.

The Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra are set to be officially unveiled on January 22, with the potential addition of the Galaxy S25 Slim later in the year.

Takeaway: If you’re considering the Galaxy S25, the price increase is minimal, and Samsung’s promotional offer could help you save on the 512GB model. However, the impact may vary by region.
