BLACKPINK’s Rosé recently shared how she transformed the pain caused by negative comments on social media into a source of inspiration for her music. During an interview with JTBC, she revealed that while she initially tried to avoid online negativity, it still affected her.

However, she learned to channel those emotions into songwriting, which helped her heal and forgive herself. “Once I accepted those feelings and started writing, I began to feel better,” she said, referencing her track “number one girl.”

In an earlier interview with The New York Times, Rosé had discussed the impact of online bullying, even revealing that it had made her cry.

As a member of BLACKPINK, Rosé has risen to international fame and is now enjoying a successful solo career. Her latest single, “APT.,” recently reached the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.

In the JTBC interview, she also spoke about her upcoming album rosie, set for release on Friday. The album features 12 tracks, including “APT.” and “number one girl.”

She shared the story behind “APT.,” explaining that the song was inspired by a late-night moment with friends while abroad. After teaching them her favorite drinking game, she was inspired to write the track the very next day.

Rosé also opened up about the personal meaning behind her album: “Rosie is my English name. The songs are simple, without heavy effects, but their lyrics resonate with me. I hope they’ll touch others as much as they’ve touched me.”
