Openvibe has expanded its capabilities by adding support for Meta’s Threads, allowing users to cross-post seamlessly across multiple social media platforms.
This update comes as many users turn to alternatives like Bluesky and Mastodon amid declining engagement on X (formerly Twitter).
Launched earlier this summer, Openvibe aggregates posts from Mastodon, Nostr, and Bluesky into a single timeline, similar to early instant messaging aggregators like Trillian. CEO Matej Svancer emphasizes the app’s goal of providing an “easy-to-use gateway” to the open social web.
With the addition of Threads support, users can now log in and interact across Threads, Mastodon, Bluesky, and Nostr. The app offers a unified feed for following friends and discovering new connections. While the Threads API is currently limited, Openvibe remains free to use and ad-free, with plans for future enhancements.
As users seek alternatives to traditional social media, Openvibe positions itself as a valuable tool for maintaining connections across diverse networks. The app is available on both iOS and Android devices.
