OnePlus has confirmed the name of its upcoming Ace series, with the next generation being called the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro, skipping the number 4 due to tetraphobia, a common superstition in China.

The announcement was made by OnePlus’ Li Jie, who also shared that early performance tests show the Ace 5 series outperforming its competitors, making it a generation ahead in terms of performance.

The OnePlus Ace 5 is expected to launch internationally as the OnePlus 13R. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while the Ace 5 Pro is rumored to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The Ace 5 will have a 6.78-inch “1.5K” LTPO AMOLED display, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a 50 MP main camera, along with a 16 MP selfie camera and a battery that supports 100W fast charging.

Both models are expected to be released in December.
